Traditionally I was trained has a, lets sit down and talk about it, therapist at Russell Sage College. Next I went on for post grad training in the very interactive world of psychodrama, sociometrics, and expressive arts for three years. While I have always had an innate ability to grasp the meaning behind the meaning in relationships and groups, this training sharpened those skills. This enables me to very quickly put pieces together exposing repeating patterns available for emotional healing. Discovering your main unconscious patterns in life can empower you to transform your life experiences into aliveness, purpose, and clear conscious choices in the now.
Next I was drawn to learn about energy techniques. I had a significant physical challenge, and my gut was telling me to find a way to heal without surgery. On my path to learning, what I consider different tools that assist me in working with the energy field, Reiki was my first love. I became a Reiki Master in the Usui system in 1996. Not a day goes by that I don’t use Reiki in some way in my life. I often tell my students that I wouldn’t want to be on this earth without knowing how to work with my energy field to support my health. Our bodies were not designed to withstand the world we live in. The toxins in our food, water, air, along with the constant bombardment of electromagnetic energy coming off our computers, televisions, cell phones, are constantly threatening our bodies balance and health. Life happens and I am so grateful to have such simple and beautiful tools to build resiliency, to restore balance, and a greater sense of peace in my life.
After years of using and teaching energy techniques like Reiki, that just require me to show up and channel a healing vibration that knows how to heal all on its own, I fell in love again, and this time with a very interactive set of techniques called Eden Energy Medicine. I have spent the last 6 years studying Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine and became certified in January of 2007. I have learned how to energy test someone’s entire energy field including the aura, chakras, meridians, radiant circuits, and five elements to discover where someone is out of balance. I then use very specific techniques to help someone restore balance. Learning how to use energy testing allows me to follow what your energy field has to say, it gives me a map to follow. Along the way I am teaching you techniques that empower you to work with your field every day establishing new healthy patterns. You are your own healer; I am just the guide, the educator.
You can’t quite study with Donna Eden without being exposed to TFT though her husband David Fienstien. TFT is another amazing energy tool that also empowers you to be part of your healing process. By tapping on a series of acupressure points while repeating very specific phases, you can decrease the emotional charge on significant events or phobias you may have in your life.
Presently I integrate Psychotherapy, Reiki, Eden Energy Medicine, Therapeutic Touch, TFT, and Expressive Arts into my sessions and teachings. My goal is to teach my clients and students how the physical, emotional, and mental, and spiritual energy fields in the body relate to one another as well as to give them techniques for optimal health and self-healing.
Along the way I have had the privilege to teach and present in many hospital, clinics, schools, and colleges. With the help of a very dedicated group of women, I was part of a 2 year research project funded by NY State Dept of Health, to study the effects of Reiki on people with dementia. I have worked with many during their treatments for cancer, helped others to prepare for surgery, experienced the thrill of 9 months of pregnancy and birth, and cheered as others healed symptoms they had been told they would just have to live with for the rest of their lives.
I am grateful every day to be the healer that I am. I stand in awe of all the amazing clients and students that I have meant along the way. You have encouraged, and sometimes even demanded, that I show up and stretch into my unknown to bring back the pearl that you need, and it has been my pleasure.
Many ask me if I am psychic, yes; can I see energy, sometimes yes; can I feel energy, yes always; do I reach across the veil and receive messages, sometimes; and so can you. I can still remember that not so long ago I could have said no to all of those questions.
In case you haven’t noticed by now energy work is my life, it is what I came here to this earth to do this time around. It is what I came to learn, what I came to teach.
